The West Kern Adult Education Network (WKAEN) is a state funded program providing support for adult education in West Kern. Since 2014, WKAEN has partnered with various organizations and businesses forming a broader consortium. In the Spring of 2016, the West Kern Adult Education Network Officially opened its doors at the Historic Taft Fort with the vision: "The consortium will ensure that all residents have access to sufficient and effective resources, training, and support required to meet community needs for high school equivalency, literacy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and citizenship education."


Location

WKAEN is located within a district that has a population base of 27,000 residents. Within the district, there is one community college district, one unified school district, one high school district, and five K-8 school districts.
